About the role
As the Principal Cyber Security Engineer, you will act as the technical authority for security engineering in collaboration with the cloud and infrastructure team. This is not a role where you are told what to do but asked for your expertise and the business will everything they can to support you.

Key responsibilities:
- Leading the response to complex and high-impact cyber security incidents across the organisation
- Defining and driving cyber security strategy, standards, policies, and best practices aligned with regulatory and business requirements
- Immplement, and continuously improve security controls across systems, networks, and applications
- Acting as the highest technical escalation point for cyber security engineering matters
- Driving organisation-wide uplift in cyber security maturity through assessments, audits, training, and advanced security technologies
About you
- 7+ years' experience in senior cyber security roles, ideally within a regulated or financial services environment
- Strong hands-on experience in Cloud Security (Azure preferred), Active Directory, Linux/UNIX, networking, and PowerShell scripting
- Expertise with SIEM platforms (Splunk preferred), PAM solutions, firewalls/WAF, and some application security
- Infra as code experience is a must
- Proven capability leading incident response and managing multiple priorities in high-pressure scenarios
- Excellent communication skills, a strong customer-service mindset, and the ability to engage effectively with non-technical stakeholders
