Karina Belokamen

I’d like to introduce myself in 3 words: curious, intuitive and tenacious. I love learning and asking “Why?” I never settle and never give up. I also can spot a kind, genuine person with a good attitude a mile away. 

These characteristics have served me well throughout my career. After completing a double degree in Law (Commercial) and Commerce (Finance & Economics), I found and sold two companies before working in business development in the FinTech and FashionTech industries and joining Emmbr in 2021. 

Specialising in IT leadership recruitment, I look for technology professionals in roles requiring leadership competencies, from manager level to CIO.

For me, leadership appointments help shape the whole company, from team culture to the quality of the product or service offering. It's a privilege to be able to impact so many organisations in this way, and the most rewarding aspect of my role. 

Migrating to Australia from Odessa (Ukraine) as a refugee, I am very proud to champion diversity in many forms. One of the ways I do this is by contributing to ‘Peak’ - a program established by Emmbr, to bring senior women in technology together to collaborate and network. 

Outside of work, I love reading non-fiction books. Recommendations are always appreciated! Also, I enjoy travelling and ballroom dancing. Fun fact I was Australian Champion for Ballrooming dance (Recreational Division) 2019-2021.
