Solution Architect

I am seeking a highly skilled and experienced Solution Architect to join a small flexible team to play a pivotal role in building, driving and bringing their architecture practice to a mature state. The Solution Architect will work closely with the Principal Enterprise Architect who will focus on strategy and technical roadmaps whilst the Solution Architect will contribute designs and architecture across the businessess different value streams. May I add that this person must have strong stakeholder management experience. This is a brand new role and reports directly to the Principal Architect.

This "ideal" candidate will come from a development background and be a hands-on Solution Architect. There's no expectation to be cutting code but you will need to be able to read and understand what is being written. The programming language doen't necassarily doesn't matter BUT have to be able to understand the front & back end (preference would be JavaScript, Java or Go etc.)

Key Responsibilities:

* Create clear architectural designs using C4 modeling and event-driven patterns
* Lead technical discovery workshops to identify system requirements and event flows
* Design scalable solutions that prioritize simplicity and maintainability
* Stakeholder management

Technical Leadership:

* Guide implementation teams in event-driven architecture principles
* Facilitate collaborative design sessions and technical discussions
* Build consensus on architectural decisions across teams
* Mentor others in architectural best practices
* Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements
* Translate complex requirements into simple, practical solutions

Collaboration:

* Work closely with engineering teams to guide technical implementation and Product Managers to align with product vision
* Proven track record of working with engineering teams to deliver designs
* Strong background in event-driven architecture
* Experience with financial systems.
