Role Summary

Our client operates a hybrid IT environment, balancing on-premises virtualisation with a growing Azure cloud footprint. The purpose of this role is to lead a small, technical team in managing, optimising, and transforming infrastructure services. It encompasses both BAU operational excellence and cloud modernisation initiatives, aiming to enhance system resilience, security, and cost efficiency across enterprise services.

Key Responsibilities
‍

• Lead and mentor a team comprising network and server administrators, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
• Oversee and optimise virtualisation, networking, and security infrastructure, ensuring stability and peak performance.
• Drive cloud adoption strategies, supporting migration efforts and integrating on-premises systems with Azure.
• Ensure security controls are appropriately configured and maintained, particularly across firewalls and network infrastructure.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align infrastructure solutions with organisational goals, balancing cost versus value.
• Establish standards, document processes, and implement best practices for infrastructure management and resilience.

About You
‍

• Proven experience in leading infrastructure teams within hybrid and cloud environments.
• Strong knowledge of VMware virtualisation, Azure cloud services, and network security (Firewalls, Fortigate).
• Demonstrated ability to innovate while managing operational costs and delivering value.
• Skilled in team leadership, cross-team collaboration, and stakeholder communication.
• Capacity to translate technical strategies into actionable plans, balancing risk and opportunity.
• Broad understanding of enterprise infrastructure, networking, and cloud migration projects.
