Security Engineer

We're recruiting a Security Engineer for a newly created permanent role within a growing cyber team supporting a large and complex enterprise environment.

This role is suited to someone who enjoys the engineering side of security — improving controls, strengthening operational capability, working across identity and access, supporting incident readiness, and partnering with internal teams to uplift security across core platforms and services.

It is a broad hands-on role for someone who can move between operational support and engineering-style improvement work, and who understands how to make security controls more effective in a real-world enterprise setting.

About the Role

• Contribute to the improvement, uplift, and ongoing maintenance of core security controls across a large environment
• Support the configuration, optimisation, and operational effectiveness of security platforms and supporting processes
• Work with internal technology teams to strengthen security across infrastructure, cloud, access management, and core services
• Support access control, privileged access, and identity-related security initiatives
• Assist with technical remediation, control validation, and follow-up actions from incidents, reviews, or risk findings
• Help improve incident readiness, operational resilience, and security response capability
• Support security investigations where required and contribute to practical remediation outcomes
• Maintain technical documentation, support procedures, and operational standards
• Contribute to broader security uplift initiatives and continuous improvement activities

About You
‍

• Experience in a Security Engineer, Cyber Security Engineer, or similar hands-on security role
• Broad practical experience across security engineering, operational security, and technical control uplift
• Exposure to identity, access, privileged access, or authentication-related security work
• Experience working with cloud, infrastructure, endpoint, or network-related security controls
• Comfortable partnering with internal technical teams to improve security outcomes
• Able to work through incidents and technical issues in a calm, structured, and practical way
• Strong understanding of how security controls operate in large or complex environments
• Good communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues clearly
• Able to speak confidently about what you have personally built, improved, configured, or strengthened
