Head of IT & Security

• Senior leadership role shaping IT and security in a scaling health tech
• Broader Head of IT remit with security ownership
• Sydney based, hybrid, $230k-$250k base

This newly created Head of IT & Security role sits within a fast-growing, purpose-led health tech business undergoing a broader technology transformation. Reporting to the CPTO, you'll own IT operations, internal platforms, and overall security posture across a 350+ person organisation.  This role is focused on strategy, uplift, and team build-out - with security engineering capability being hired alongside you - making it ideal for a senior IT leader with strong security oversight experience.

About the role
‍

• Own end-to-end IT operations including service desk, end user computing, and internal support experience
• Define and deliver the organisation's security strategy, frameworks, and governance (ISO 27001 / SOC2 aligned)
• Lead and grow a small but high-impact team across Tech Ops, Security, and SaaS/platform capability
• Take ownership of internal tooling and SaaS ecosystem (Google Workspace, Slack, CRM, contact centre platforms)
• Partner with engineering to ensure strong security across cloud (AWS) and the core product platform
• Uplift IT service maturity (ITIL-aligned) and build scalable processes, policies, and ways of working

About you
‍

• Proven experience in a Head of IT / IT Manager role within a 200-1000 person organisation
• Broad background across IT operations, end user computing, SaaS, and security oversight
• Strong understanding of security frameworks, governance, and risk, without needing to be hands-on engineering
• Experience building or maturing IT service environments, with a clear service management mindset
• Comfortable operating in a scale-up environment - hands-on, pragmatic, and adaptable
• Strong stakeholder skills, able to translate technical concepts into clear business outcomes
